
Neil S. Orkin is principal of Global Training Systems, a global management consulting firm
specializing in human resource development. Dr. Orkin graduated with a doctorate in adult
education with an emphasis in corporate training and education. His research focused on
global training in collaborative learning groups. His specialty is working with organizations and preparing their
professionals to deal with cross-cultural business challenges.
Dr. Orkin received his Bachelors degree from the
University of Michigan, his Masters from Columbia
University, and graduated from Rutgers University with a
doctorate in Adult Education with an emphasis in corporate
training and education. His research focused on global
training in collaborative learning groups.
He was a full-time faculty member at Rutgers University
for seven years. At Rutgers, Dr. Orkin was coordinator of
the Rutgers Corporate Program, where he designed, developed,
and implemented global training programs for Fortune 100
corporations. He has many years of experience conducting
communication skills training and global training programs,
and extensive experience working and living abroad.
As a communication skills consultant for Time T.I.
Communications, a Japanese company, Dr. Orkin worked with
Japanese executives at many leading companies in Japan. His
client list included: Honda, Toyota, JVC, C. Itoh Trading,
Sumitomo Bank, Kawasaki Steel, and many other Japanese
corporations.
In the United States, Dr. Orkin has worked with
executives from AT&T, Johnson & Johnson, Colgate, Merrill
Lynch, Schering-Plough, and many other Fortune 100
organizations.
Dr. Orkin speaks Japanese, Spanish, and Portuguese, and
has a working knowledge of Korean and Italian.
